An in-depth journey that covers almost all the sites of Northern West Vietnam, offering you a truly experiences of local life in the area.

Start with the charming city of Hanoi, our driver and guide will take you for a round trip visiting Ninh Binh, Mai Chau, Dien Bien, Sapa,and finally, the stunning Halong Bay. Usually, it would be a hard and long journey but the whole experience will be worthwhile.

Day 1 Hanoi Arrival

Welcome to Hanoi - the capital city of Vietnam with beautiful tree-lined streets and colonial buildings, a heaven of street vendor foods and hospitable people. Arrive in Noi Bai International Airport and our guide will be waiting there to take you to your hotel in the city center for a rest.

Day 2 Hanoi – City tour and traditional village

Today commences with a 1 hour transfer from Hanoi. From the main road, you will go through rice fields before entering the village, where a 300-year-old breathtakingly beautiful pagoda with amazing architecture is located. It will make you feel like you have stepped back in time. Walking through the footpaths, you’ll see the small local market where people sell various local produce and food. Scattered along the road are the food vendors. You might be interested in buying some fresh products here to keep you going until your lunch later in the village. Continue on to visit the quiet pagoda hidden behind the vibrant market.
Following the stone bridge you will visit the village where a 300-year-old wooden house still stands. An ancestral shrine of each family surrounds the lake as well as the temple where the worshipping of the village’s tutelary occurs. Your visit to the traditional village will end after having a friendly lunch with a local family.
Rest a little bit before you go back to the city centre to have a 4-hour city tour. The tour includes visits to the main sites of Hanoi such as the Ho Chi Minh Complex (outside), Temple of Literature – the first university of Vietnam, Old Quarter, and Sword Lake. Conclude the day with St. Joseph Cathedral – where many couples come to take romantic pictures.

Day 3 Hanoi – Ninh Binh – Cuc Phuong

The trip will start with a 2 hour transfer to Trang An, the world heritage site. The area is so quiet and surrounded by gigantic limestone mountains. You will hop on a boat and be rowed through pristine natural caves, and a spectacular grotto . After admiring Trang An you will head to Cuc Phuong, the oldest National Park in Vietnam. Stop and visit the renowned Endangered Primate Rescue Centre, to see some of the rarest apes and monkeys in the world and learn about the conservation efforts to save them. Then you will hop on bikes and ride through the national tropical forest, discovering its rich flora and fauna system. Enjoy this night in a lakeside bungalow in the National Park.

Day 4 Cuc Phuong – Moc Chau – Soft Trekking

After breakfast, you’ll get in the car and continue your journey. Firstly, you will go through the park to admire the natural beauty then continue on the main road until you get to Moc Chau. You’ll arrive at your homestay of the H’mong minority at around noon in time for a break and lunch.
After lunch you will start your soft trek through the valley forest then further to the minority village to discovery their daily life and typical culture.

Day 5 Moc Chau – Son La – Dien Bien

Enjoy a simple breakfast with your host family then head towards Dien Bien, where the epic memories of the Dien Bien Phu Battles still resonate. Along the way, you will drop in to some local villages of H'mong, Thai, Muong and Dzao tribes as well as the green tea hills of Moc Chau. You will have lunch in Son La.
After lunch, you will continue your journey through the bumpy yet breathtaking roads to reach Dien Bien. Stop at the picturesque Pha Din Pass to take some photos. Pha Din Pass is among the four most beautiful passes of Northwest Vietnam and is considered the connection between Heaven and Earth.
Arrive in Dien Bien district late in the afternoon and you will be hosted by a Thai minority family where you will experience another night with the local people.

Moc Chau Tea Hill

Day 6 Dien Bien Phu – Lai Chau – Phong Tho

After breakfast you will visit General Giap tunnel before heading toward Dien Bien town where you will visit some of the main historical sites of Dien Bien, including Dien Bien Phu Museum, A1 hill, and the Dien Bien Phu Cemetery for a minute of silence in memory of the heroes who sacrificed themselves for the victory of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign. Other sites include General De Castries Bunker, Old Muong Thanh Bridge, and Nam Ron River.
In the afternoon, you will head towards Lai Chau along the bumpy roads and drop in to ethnic villages en route. You will stay overnight in Phong Tho.

A1 - Dien Bien Phu

Day 7 Lai Chau – Sapa – Muong Hoa valley

After breakfast, you will leave Lai Chau to drive up Tam Duong to visit some morning markets. Then head to Sapa on a bumpy path with breathtaking scenery of yawning valleys, beautiful rivers, and row after row of mountains. The drive to Sapa will take you over the Tram Ton Pass - the highest pass of Vietnam where you can view Fansipan peak - the roof of Indochina. Then you will visit the nearby Silver Waterfall before arriving in Sapa town. After visiting the town you will be transferred deep into the Muong Hoa valley to admire the true beauty of Sapa where you will stay with a local family.

Day 8 Sapa – Hidden Village

Today is the adventure day as you will discover the most hidden part of Sapa with almost no tourists. You will start your trek from the homestay.The trek is on a small trail and firstly you will trek up to the Hoang Lien mountain. When you get to the middle of the mountain you will have a panoramic view of the valley.You will pass by terraced rice fields, streams with the purest water from the mountain source, visit the local houses of the minority community to discover their untainted culture, and if the weather permits you also can swim at a small waterfall. After admiring all the breathtaking scenery of Sapa, as well as discovering the untouched villages, you will come back to the homestay to relax.

Day 9 Sapa – Relax – Hanoi

Today you will be woken up by the sound of nature, have breakfast, and relax in nature’s beauty before getting in the car for your journey back to Hanoi.

Day 10 Hanoi - Halong Bay - Cruise experience

Go on a 3-4 hour journey to Halong Bay – a natural world wonder. You’ll spend a night onboard an elegant junk, cruising on the emerald water to the far and less touched areas of Halong; it is a lifetime experience that you will never forget!
You’ll arrive at the dock at around noon when you will then embark on the cruise, followed by a delicious lunch while the cruise sails further into the secluded, island-dotted bay. You will join in the cruise's activities such as visiting caves and sandstone mountains, and kayaking. And at night, relax on the sun deck or go squid fishing.

Day 11 Halong Bay - Hanoi

Wake up early and take advantage of rising early to capture the most beautiful moments of the bay during sun rise, then attend a Tai Chi lesson onboard with other passengers. A light breakfast is served with pastries and coffee while your cruise continues sailing through the islands. Depending on each cruise, you may visit nearby islands in a row boat then navigate back to the Halong jetty.
Transfer back to Hanoi later this afternoon.

Day 12 Hanoi – Departure

Today is your last day in Hanoi. Enjoy breakfast at your hotel then wander around the city for last minute shopping or sightseeing before getting transferred to Hanoi Airport for your departure flight.
