Vietnam with its S-shape and prolonged coastal line make the country's culture vary from north to south. Thus, the local cuisine of North Vietnam is different from that of the Central area and very unlike the food in the Southern area. Join our Vietnam culinary tour; you will spend 12 days discovering not only the beauty of the country, but also the delicious local foods that make many tourists fall in love when they travel to Vietnam.

Day 1 Hanoi Arrival

Welcome to Hanoi - the capital city of Vietnam with beautiful tree-lined streets and colonial buildings, a heaven of vendor foods and hospitable people. Arrive in Noi Bai International Airport, our guide will be waiting there to take you to your hotel in the city center for a short rest.
In the afternoon, take a rickshaw tour along the streets of Hanoi, taking in the vibrant Old Quarter. Kick start your Vietnam culinary tour savoring an authentic Vietnamese dinner in a local restaurant.

Day 2 Hanoi – Tien Le Veggie Farm – City Tour

This morning you will travel out of Hanoi city center to the suburban areas for a half-day eco tour discovering the local life. You will get picked up from your hotel lobby around 7:30 am then set out on a 45-min drive to Tien Le Vegetable village, about 18km to the west of Hanoi.
Arrive in the peaceful village, our local host and guide will take you on a wonderful visit of a market in the countryside. Wandering around the stalls that sell food, meat, veggies, etc. You can try bargaining for some ingredients we will use in our upcoming cooking session. All of them are newly harvested and fresh!
When you get back from the market, you will put on farming clothes and bring farming tools to the field, where many local people are working since the early morning. Prepare to get dirty as you will be doing some farming activities like plowing, growing vegetables, watering and fertilizing. Come back to your host family for a cooking session and lunch.
In the afternoon, take a guided tour of some main sites of Hanoi: Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Complex (you just pass by), the One Pillar Pagoda and the Women’s Museum. In the evening, enjoy the Water Puppet Show - a traditional art form which stems from wet rice culture.

Day 3 Hanoi – Mai Chau – Homestay

Get in our car this morning and we will take you along the National Road No.6 to the small, isolated town - Mai Chau, about 170 km from Hanoi. Nestled between two towering cliffs with emerald green paddies around, it is an enchanting sight which presents an idyllic rural scene that could easily make people love at first sight. Stop en route to capture the beautiful moments of the valley. Have lunch with delicious local foods is served in the village.
In the afternoon, start the trekking tour to Pom Coong and Na Phon villages - home to Thai minority people. Trekking along the terrace rice fields and small villages, you will have a chance to experience both the natural beauty of the area and discover the culture as well by meeting and communicating with local people. Get back to your host family in the afternoon and join them for a homemade dinner with local foods.

Day 4 Mai Chau – Trekking – Hanoi

Wake up early this morning to enjoy the freshest moments of the day with stunning surrounding sceneries. After a light breakfast with the host family, we will get in the car for a short drive then start hiking off the road, along the terrace rice fields and down the winding lanes to visit Cum and Xam Khoe villages. We will spend a short time in the villages talking with local ethnic people. Then we drive back to Hanoi in the afternoon and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.

Day 5 Hanoi – Halong Bay – Overnight on Cruise

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before taking 3-4 hour journey to Halong Bay – a natural wonder of the world. Spend 1 night onboard an elegant junk, cruising on the emerald water to the far and less touched areas of Halong; it is a lifetime experience that you will never forget!
Arrive at the dock around noon, and then embark on a cruise, followed by a delicious lunch while the cruise sails further to the secluded, island-dotted bay. You will join the cruise's activities such as visiting a cave and sandstone islands, and kayaking. At night, relax on the sun deck or go on for squid fishing.

Day 6 Halong Bay – Hanoi – Fly to Hue

Wake up early to capture the most beautiful moments of the bay during sun rise then attend a Tai Chi lesson with other passengers. Light breakfast is served with pastries and coffee while your cruise continues sailing through the islands. Depending on each cruise, you may visit nearby islands in a rowboat then navigate back to the Halong jetty. Pack your luggage and enjoy the brunch onboard before disembarkation.
Our driver will be waiting at the jetty to take you back to the Hanoi Airport for your onward flight to Hue. When you arrive in Hue airport, our driver and guide will be waiting then take you to your hotel in the city center.

Day 7 Hue City Tour

Today you will have a full day to discover the poetic city of Hue.
Spend this morning on a boat trip along Perfume River to visit the Thien Mu Pagoda - the iconic symbol of Hue city. Then, we will come back to visit the Hue Citadel - home to the Imperial City. The citadel comprises 3 circles of ramparts and we will step into this one by one. From the exterior circle - Hue Citadel, we then move to the second circle - the Royal Citadel. The third part and the center of the citadel is the Forbidden City. Situated inside the Imperial Citadel complex, behind the Throne Palace, the Purple Forbidden Citadel was reserved for the Emperor and his family.
In the afternoon, we continue our tour with a visit to the Khai Dinh and Minh Mang Tombs. While Khai Dinh Tomb is considered a blend of Western and Eastern architecture, Minh Mang Tomb is known as a perfect combination between manmade and natural beauty. The architecture of this majesty tomb fits harmoniously into the surrounding landscape. Conclude the day by visiting a handicraft village where conical hats are made.

Day 8 Hue – Danang – Hoian – Walking Tour

This morning, have breakfast at your hotel then head to Hoian. Stop en route at the Lang Co Bay for a spectacular view of the blue sea water and the nearby fishing villages. Arrive in the charming town of Hoian in the late morning and enjoy a short rest to recover before joining the afternoon tour.
In the afternoon, take a guided walking tour along the beautiful, narrow streets of the Hoian ancient town and visit some key sites such as the Japanese Bridge, Chinese Assembly Halls, and Ancient House.
The rest of the day is for your own explorations.

Day 9 Hoian Cooking Class – Wet Rice Tour (group-join)

This morning you will join a wonderful cooking class on Thuan Tinh Island - the official ecological zone of Hoian. Start with a market visit where you will walk along the local shops and buy fresh ingredients for the cooking session. Then you will embark on a boat trip through the water coconut trees to get into the cooking venue - an open-to-the-air kitchen where everything is set up and ready to cook. Under the instructions of the chef, you will be able to cook some local foods and finally, dine on your own creations!
In the afternoon, you will have a real adventure with a wonderful eco tour named Wet Rice, which allows you to learn about the whole process of how rice reaches its finished product. Start the day by cycling to the rice farm (other transfer options such as car and motor taxi are available with surcharge applied), riding a water buffalo and then taking part in ploughing, raking, sowing, planting, grinding and separating the rice and making rice flour. At the end of the tour you will have the opportunity to cook and eat beautiful crispy pancakes, which will be served with a cool drink. This whole experience is held on a family farm, taking your Vietnam food tour to the next level and making it something you will never forget. Just prepare to get dirty!

Day 10 Hoian – Danang – Fly to Saigon – City Tour & Street food

This morning is free for leisure until getting transferred to Danang Airport for your onward flight to Saigon - the biggest city in Vietnam. Arrive in Saigon, our driver and guide will take you to your hotel in the city center.
In the afternoon, take a guided tour to visit some city key sites such as the War Remnants Museum, the Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, City Post Office and Ben Thanh market.
At night, enjoy a street food tour on a scooter with our experienced and humorous drivers who will take you to every corner of the city - where the good foods await.

Day 11 Saigon – Mekong Delta (Ben Tre) Day Trip

After breakfast at your hotel, our driver and guide will meet you at the hotel lobby to take you on a 2-hour drive to Ben Tre Province. Along the route, we will stop in Tien Giang for a short visit of the Vinh Trang Pagoda - an ancient southern architectural gem. Following our arrival in Hung Vuong pier in Ben Tre, we will take a boat trip on Ben Tre river – one of tributaries of Mekong river, observing lively activities along the river such as fishing and water transferring…First stop will be a local brickwork where bricks are made manually in the traditional way, then we visit one of plenty of coconut processing workshops located along the canal. Then we disembark via boat, enjoy a leisure walk or bike ride to a local family for lunch.
In the afternoon, continue walking in a village which makes sleeping mats and then take a relaxing rowboat along the palm creek and row back to Hung Vuong Pier. Our driver will be waiting there to take you back to your hotel in Saigon.

Day 12 Saigon – Departure

Today is the last day of your Vietnam food tour. Enjoy breakfast at your hotel then wander around the city of Saigon for last minute shopping or sightseeing before getting transferred to Saigon Airport for your departure flight.
