Day 1 Hanoi Arrival

Welcome to Hanoi - the capital city of Vietnam with beautiful tree lined streets and colonial buildings, a heaven of vendor foods and hospitable people. Arrive in Noi Bai International Airport, our guide will be waiting there to take you to your hotel in the city center for a short rest to recover from jet lag.
In the afternoon, take a rickshaw tour along the streets of Hanoi, taking in the vibrant Old Quarter then enjoy rest of the night on your own before entering in to 18 day journey. With such a lengthy tour like this, taking part in tailor-made private Vietnam tours in which you are encouraged to re-design your trip as your preferences seems to be more reasonable.

Day 2 Hanoi City Tour – Foodie Tour

With its wide tree-lined boulevards, French-colonial buildings, peaceful lakes, oriental pagodas, and warm-hearted local people, Hanoi offers a timeless charm that will make people fall in love with it.
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before setting out on a full day guided tour where you will discover the cultural and natural beauty of Hanoi. The tour includes visits to main sites such as the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum complex (you just pass by), the nearby One Pillar Pagoda, the Presidential Palace, Temple of Literature, the sedate Tran Quoc Pagoda and Quan Thanh Temple and then, one of the city museums. Conclude the day with the interesting water puppet show – a traditional folk dance with roots from the Southeast Asian's wet rice culture.
In the evening, join our wonderful Foodie tour where you will have chance to discover the delicious street foods from local vendors. Follow our expert guide; you will sample the delicious "Banh Cuon" to barbecued meat, and veggie, then finally seasonal fruits and tasty egg coffee.

Day 3 Hanoi – One day cycling in nearby villages – Night train to Laocai

Cycling is one of the best ways to discover the local life! And this tour is the best tour for Vietnam family packages by comprising huge cultural values and local experiences.
Today you will wake up a bit early and have breakfast in your hotel before heading to the outskirt of Hanoi for a full-day cycling trip around the craft villages.
Cycling along the small and windy paths of the village to the vegetable field where many local people are working on. Enjoy the sightseeing en route and stop to take photos at your leisure. Feel free to talk to the farmers to learn more about their life and try doing some farming activities like plowing and watering. Prepare to get dirty but have some unforgettable moments! Later on, you will ride back to your host family for a wonderful cooking session and lunch with delicious local foods.
In the afternoon, bid farewell to the smiling farmers, as we continue our cycling journey to a nearby village to visit a local family who produces rice wine. After that, get on your bike again and head to the next stop where you will visit local workshops of Son Dong wood carving village to admire the skillful local artisans who make sacred statues and other items. Conclude the tour with a short visit to the local pagoda before embarking on car to drive back city center. Check-in your day-use hotel and enjoy a short rest before heading to Hanoi Railway Station for the night train to Laocai.

Day 4 Laocai – Sapa – Sa Seng – Hau Tao – Ta Van

Arrive in Laocai in the early morning. Our driver and guide will take you to Sapa along the bumpy yet breathtaking roads. Have breakfast in a local restaurant then start the trekking tour to local villages.
From Sapa, we head along the road to Laocai City for about 3km to reach the Sa Seng village of Black H'mong people. This local village is still lesser known by most tourists so the local lifestyle and sceneries have been preserved. After that, we will continue trekking along the small trails for about one more hour to the Den Thang range. Climbing up to reach the top where you can enjoy the breathtaking views of Fansipan Peak and Muong Hoa Valley. Then, continue our trek to the Hang Da village where H'mong ethnic people settle at 1,800m above sea level. Have picnic lunch in the village. In the afternoon, we continue on to Hau Thao village and to Ta Van, home to Dzay ethnic people before heading back to Sapa for your night stay.

Day 5 Sapa – Trekking to Ma Tra – Ta Phin – Night train to Hanoi

Enjoy breakfast at hotel, then start this morning with a 3km journey through scenic paths to visit Suoi Ho village of Hmong people. From here you can enjoy views of endless rice terraces and also many animals raised by local people. Bid farewell to Suoi Ho village as we continue walking along the beautiful gardens and lush pine forests to the Matra village of Black Hmong minority. Even though it is only several kilometers away from Sapa town, this village is still less visited by tourists so it gives you a truly local experience. Then, you will come across the impressive ruins of a church dating back to the French occupation in the early 1900s before enjoying a picnic lunch in the village.
In the afternoon, we will travel to Ta Phin village where you will be able to meet both Black Hmong and Red Dzao people. The Red Dzao minority is known for herbal medicine as they use a lot of plants to treat illness. Spend a short time there to listen to local Dzao people share about their expertise in medicine. Feel free to enjoy an herbal medicine bath prepared by local people (separate fees for this service).
Transfer back to Laocai Train station for your night train back Hanoi.

Day 6 Hanoi – Halong Bay – Overnight on Cruise

Arrive in Hanoi in the early morning; enjoy a leisure walk back to your day-use hotel for a short rest and breakfast before setting out on a 3-4 hour journey to Halong Bay – a natural wonder of the world. Spend a night onboard an elegant junk, cruising on the emerald water to the far and less touched areas of Halong; it is a lifetime experience that you will never forget!
Arrive at the dock around noon then you will embark on the cruise, followed by a delicious lunch while the cruise sails further to the secluded, island-dotted bay. You will join the cruise's activities such as visiting caves and sandstone islands, and kayaking…At night, relaxing on the sun deck or go squid fishing.

Day 7 Halong Bay – Hanoi – Fly to Hue

Awake early to capture the most beautiful moments of the bay during sunrise then join a Tai Chi lesson with other passengers. Light breakfast is served with pastries and coffee while your cruise continues sailing through the islands. Depending on each cruise; you might visit nearby islands using a rowboat then navigate back to Halong jetty. Pack your luggage then enjoy the brunch onboard before disembarkation.
Our driver will be waiting at the jetty to take you back to Hanoi Airport for your onward flight to Hue. Arrive in Hue airport, our driver and guide will be waiting then take you to hotel in the city center.

Day 8 Hue City Tour

Today you will have a full day joining in Vietnam culture tours to discover the poetic city of Hue.
Start the day with a visit of Hue Citadel - home to the Imperial City. The citadel comprises 3 circles of ramparts and we will step into this one by one. From the exterior circle, Hue capital citadel, we will move to the second circle- the Imperial Citadel. The third part and also the center of the citadel is the Forbidden City. Situated inside the Imperial Citadel complex, behind the Throne Palace, the Purple Forbidden Citadel was reserved for the Emperor and his family.
In the afternoon, we continue our tour with the Imperial Museum, Tu Hieu Pagoda and the vibrant riverside Dong Ba Market.

Day 9 Hue – Biking to Tam Giang Lagoon

Today you will have full day cycling to nearby villages and Tam Giang Lagoon to discover more about local daily life!
After breakfast at your hotel, hop on your bike and we will start the biking journey to Tam Giang along the riverside peaceful villages, firstly we will reach the Thuy Lap Handicraft village where locals make tools & furniture from bamboo. It was one of the most important crafts in Vietnam but with less people making this craft in recent times, Thuy Lap is at risk of losing its traditional art form. Local authority is putting in much effort to bring the craft village back to its prosperous period. Join local craftsmen to discover how they make bamboo baskets, then you can try to make a basket on your own under their careful instruction. Leave the village, you will bring the basket with you on the journey as it can be used in the next part. Lunch en route.
In the afternoon, we finally arrive in Tam Giang Lagoon; get off your bike and enjoy a wonderful boat trip to the lagoon where you can learn and practice fishing. The local fisherman will instruct you how to throw cast nets or drift nets then you will practice this skill with a lot of fun. Later on, we will go back to the fisherman's house to have a delicious meal with local fresh seafood.
Drive back to your hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 10 Hue – Danang – Hoian – Walking Tour

This morning, have breakfast at your hotel then head to Hoian. Stop en route at the Lang Co Bay for a spectacular view of the blue seawater along with nearby fishing villages. Arrive in charming Hoian in the late morning and enjoy a short rest to recover before joining the afternoon tour.
After lunch, join a guided walking tour along the beautiful narrow streets of the Hoian ancient town and visit some key sites such as the Japanese Bridge, the Chinese Assembly Halls, and Ancient House…
The rest of the day is for your own explorations.

Day 11 Hoian – Farming & Fishing Life (Group-join)

Around 8:00am, our guide will come to pick you up at your hotel for a wonderful day trip exploring both the local farming and fishing communities (group tour). Start the trip with a leisurely cycling journey along country roads witnessing local Vietnamese rural life first hand (car or motor taxi are available upon request with surcharge if you do not want to ride a bike). Your first stop is a beautiful organic vegetable village where you will have a chance to join some farming activities like watering and planting vegetables, hoeing soil with local farmers, riding a water buffalo in a rice paddy field, watching ducks swimming along the rice farm and farmers tending to their crops. The photo opportunities are endless. You will experience the friendliness of the local people greeting you along the way. Later on, embark on a local boat for a river cruise to meet and engage with local fishermen and enjoy a hands-on experience of traditional net fishing. You will also experience paddling the unique Vietnamese bamboo basket boat while the waterways of coconut palm paradise. This tour will definitely be an experience of a lifetime!

Day 12 Hoian – Free on the beach

Today is free for your own explorations. You can choose to head to the beach or wander around the charming old town.

Day 13 Hoian – Danang – Fly to Saigon – City Tour

This morning is free for leisure until getting transferred to Danang Airport for your onward flight to Saigon - the biggest city of Vietnam. When you arrive in Saigon, our driver and guide will take you to your hotel in the city center.
In the afternoon, get on a guided tour to visit some city key sites such as the War Remnants Museum, the Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, City Post Office and Ben Thanh market. The rest of the day is for your leisure. If this is your Vietnam family packages, this free time is a great chance for a nice tea break for family when the sun goes down, in a beautiful café along the street of a new country. How wonderful life can be!

Day 14 Saigon – Cu Chi Tunnels – Cao Dai Temple

After breakfast, we will travel for about 70km to the northwest of Saigon to visit Cu Chi Tunnels - a vast underground defense system of Viet Cong during the Vietnam War which houses up to 10,000 people. The tunnels were constructed with hospitals, living rooms, kitchens, storage and working areas also in an approximate length of 250km. the remaining tunnels, nowadays, is a must-see destination for tourists who come to Vietnam to get a view of the underground life during the war time. You can also join a shooting trial with an AK47 or MK16 with separate fees. Next you will head to Tay Ninh, home to the Cao Dai Holy See Temple. Established in the 1920s but it was only officially codified in 1926; Caodaism combines Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, Confucianism, Hinduism, Geniism and Taoism. Cao Dai Holy See is not only a holy temple but also a spectacular construction that attracts tourists from many places around the country and the world.
Arrive in your hotel in the late afternoon and enjoy rest of the day on your own.

Day 15 Saigon – Cai Be – Vinh Long – Chau Doc

By joining in tailor-made private Vietnam tours, the destinations are up to you. However, if you have a little know about Vietnam, our professional guides would love to help you to draw the journey. Leaving the busy Saigon city to travel to the peaceful Mekong Delta on a 2 day trip is a great example. After a 2-hour drive, we will reach Cai Be, the heart of Mekong Delta, and then embark on a cruise trip along the Mekong River. We will start by sailing among local barges full of fruits and vegetables, stop in some local workshops to see how people make rice paper, coconut candy, pop-rice and pop-corn. As we get deeper into the countryside on smaller canals, you will see traditional houses made with wood and palm tree leaves; local people doing their daily farming activities and also listen to their stories to have a more authentic perspective of the local area. Lunch is served in one local house then you will continue the afternoon trip on a biking journey through the peaceful roads of this beautiful area.
Drive to Chau Doc and enjoy rest of the day on your own.

Day 16 Chau Doc – Tra Su Cajuput Forest – Can Tho

In the morning, have breakfast at the hotel then get transferred to Tra Su Cajuput forest, which is known for not only its almost-untouched natural beauty, but also the diverse system of flora and fauna. Start your Chau Doc Tour on a boat trip into the forest; you will be impressed by pictures of cajuputs, the fragrance of flowers and the music-like noise of birds, insects and animals. Then, you can climb up the observation post to get a panorama view of the vast forest with birds flying around. After the tour, we will get in the car again to travel to Can Tho city for the night stay.

Day 17 Can Tho – Cai Rang floating market – Saigon

Wake up early this morning and head to the famous Cai Rang floating market - a maze of hundreds of boats sailing around selling foods and products. This floating market is very different from the local markets you may see in other provinces of Vietnam - buyers can easily find the boat selling their desired products from a far distance as the boat owners will hang their items on long, vertical poles.
As we leave the floating market, we continue our boat ride to the local fruit orchards and enjoy fresh, delicious tropical fruits. Then we will visit local villages, passing along peaceful paths to visit traditional houses, observing the daily lives of local people and listening to them speak about their traditions. Drive back to Saigon and have lunch en route.

Day 18 Saigon – Departure

Today is your last day in Saigon. Enjoy breakfast at your hotel then wander around the city for last minute shopping or sightseeing before getting transferred to Saigon Airport for your departure flight.
